The moment that you choose to LEAD…

is the moment that you became a THREAT to the ENEMY

The enemy doesn’t want you to succeed.

The enemy doesn’t want you to lead.

The enemy knows that if you become a better LEADER you will create a BIGGER IMPACT.

And because the enemy knows that, they’re going to throw everything they have at you to stop you from doing whatever you need to do to GROW.

It happens to me all the time.

Whenever I put an event together the ENEMY wants to SABOTAGE my growth.

That’s when I say,

“Not today fella, NOT TODAY!”

That way I can break the pattern and CHOOSE TO LEAD. Choose to do my best. Choose to BE MY BEST!

And what’s our biggest Enemy?!

FEAR

  • Fear of the unknown.

  • Fear of failure.

  • Fear of others.

  • Fear of less.

  • Fear of loss.

  • Fear of never.

  • Fear.

  • Fear.

  • Fear.

What are you doing to deal with your biggest enemy?!

  Well, that last blog really made some waves and rattled cages. Several phone calls, emails, and I see that my unsubscribes were almost triple what they typically are. Sign of the Times!? I didn’t mean for folks to get all freaked out, it’s really just a public service announcement. A tough conversation that needs to be brought up now and now again to check in make sure we’re all on the same page. Open the door for some good (yet awkward) discussions for everyone. I have a similar conversation about cleanliness so you don’t stink during training. You know, take a bath and wash your gear, come to class w/clean clothes, so you don’t smell of B.O. when you’re rolling around with someone in class. Ebb & Flow

  Your training and life has an ebb and flow to it. There are times of exertion and times of recovery. Times of activity and times of rest. For instance, at our local Krav academy, we just got finished with a testing rotation. Testing rotations are a couple months of longer, harder training for all of us at the academy. It can get pretty intense for folks. At the end of the training period we have a big 4ish hour test. A gauntlet really that everyone goes through. Afterward we chill things out again. Our training slows down and eases up. We go from exerting a lot of effort. Working on a lot of gross motor skill drills. Lots of PT and higher intensity training. However, most folks, myself included, can’t safely or comfortably keep up that pace. It’s not sustainable. You have to… Chill Out for a While… Your training has seasons to it.
