The Mission


 

There's a Rush song from their 1987 album, Hold Your Fire called Mission.


The song itself isn't my favorite, it's alright, but the lyrics are profound:

"Hold your fire
Keep it burning bright
Hold the flame
'Til the dream ignites
A spirit with a vision
Is a dream with a mission"

Prolific Mission?!

In a podcast that I haven't released yet, I talk about prolific stories, namely YOUR prolific story. Well, within any prolific story lays a MISSION! 

So, I ask you, what is YOUR Mission behind your prolific story?

Within a lifetime you will have many missions... but that's not exactly what I'm talking about. 

I'm talking about the Mission that underlies Your Prolific Story. 

What is THAT?

Do you have one?

Did you have one that you buried or put on a shelf? 

Are you still searching?

Or given up on it?

Or, maybe you don't believe in it at all?

I can't answer that for you...

I CAN tell you that I have a mission and although it's sometimes scary, frustration, or confusing following the breadcrumb path, it has been rewarding beyond words.

How about you?!

Maybe you're on it.

Maybe you're not.

Maybe you are, but you just don't see it... Yet!


"When I feel the powerful visions

I wish I had that instinct
I wish I had that drive"


Focusing In...

Focusing in on your mission is important. 

Too many people are too distracted today.

Is it possible to have more than one mission?

Possibly. 

It could change throughout your life.

It could be your family. 

Or career.

It could be something deeper yet...

It could be that calling inside of you that you can't ignore any more... 

Or has been there from the beginning. 


You Probably Already Guessed

I am one of the lucky ones who lives their mission every day. I feel so fortunate to be able to do what I was called to do full time.  

Helping and Serving people like you. Helping so many to achieve their Mission. Helping you to write your own Prolific Stories. Helping people like you and your family get home safe. Be more successful at your job. Experience deeper more meaningful relationships. Have less regrets. Cultivate more fulfilling Lives. Live more prolifically!

I know what you may be thinking...

REALLY?! That's what all of this stuff does?

And then there are those of you in our community who are nodding your heads right now. 

Why?!

Because they know the truth and power of what these skills and this community can do for you. 


No Matter Your Mission

It doesn't matter what you do, you're going to run into conflict. 

The more skills you have to navigate those conflicts, the easier you'll achieve whatever your Mission is, no matter how large or small.

And that's a fact Jack!

Are people from Crete Creteans??

Here I am in Crete. It is a pretty cool island. It is a bit more difficult getting around, but far from impossible. Most people speak at least a little english and I have gotten very good at asking (in Greek) if they speak english. I walked around about 15 miles today. Into town, around town, to all (and I do mean all) of their museums, archelogical sights, some cafe's and town squares. I really didn't even get lost today. Wow, I must be making some progress. I met a couple English people (yes, people from England silly) we hung out until about 1am or so and talked about politics, troubled youth, the difference between the FBI, CIA, and Secret Service (don't ask, if I told you I'd have to kill you:), body guards, ccw laws etc. It was kinda of funny, most of the museums that I went to today were under construction and had only one exhibit open. What's Your Rosebud?

  One of my favorite classic movies is: "Citizen Kane" It starred Orson Welles. [NOTE: spoiler ahead - if you haven't seen it] And, was about the life and legacy of a powerful newspaper publisher, based partly on the late William Randolph Hearst. The movie starts with Charles Foster Kane dying, with his last word being "Rosebud" — and the entire movie is this sort of question of what "Rosebud" is. Turns out it was simply the trade name of a cheap little sled on which Kane was playing on the day he was taken away from his home and his mother as a child. Welles revealed in an interview: "In his subconscious it represented the simplicity, the comfort, above all the lack of responsibility in his home, and also it stood for his mother's love which Kane never lost."   The Parrot Three sons left home, went out on their own and prospered. Getting back together, they discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly Mother. .
