One Step at a Time… |
Saturday we began a new intro session at the academy. We took in a handful of new students and helped them start their journey on this PeaceWalker Path. One of the things that we talk about early on is beginning to build your own personal DAILY practice. Nothing crazy or even time consuming. Just do something every day! Yes, that’s right, practice every - single - day. Don’t make it complicated, as a matter of fact, the simpler the better. Just get used to doing two things: #1 - Bring your training outside of the academy. Your real training happens outside of class, so start cultivating this perspective early on! When it comes to training how to protect yourself and becoming a PeaceWalker you begin to realize everything you do is training. ‘It’s not just the physical stuff (although that’s part of it too). The four main categories that you are constantly training are your:

#2 - Make It a Daily Habit. Do something everyday to build & sustain your training. When it comes to the physical stuff, don’t over complicate that either. Here are a couple tips: The first thing when you get out of bed practice a technique or two. After you brush your teeth. Practice again. Just one or two moves it’ll literally only take you a couple seconds. Just go through the motions in the air, like shadow boxing. Every time you go to the bathroom do the same thing. Lunchtime?! Yep you guessed it do a move or two before you eat. Bedtime?! Yep, throw in a quick technique before bed. Maybe after you brush your teeth or just before you hit the sheets. It doesn’t have to be a lot, just get used to doing a couple things several times per day. If you want to ramp things up even more, add 5 or 10 squats or push ups (or both) to this regimen. |
Soon, You’ll Begin to Notice… |
If you begin doing this daily practice, it won’t take too long and you’ll begin to notice things beginning to change. Little things at first, then bigger things. This change, if you are doing it right, can lead to a substantial… TRANSFORMATION! “Like what?” you ask!? Good question. It all depends on what you are training for. What are you training to become? Remember when you plant apple seeds you get an apple tree. Don’t plant orange seeds expecting apple tree. So, be mindful what you’re planting! Apply this to your personal life, your family, your career, your training. A lot rests on the little things you do on a daily basis. The fruit that you bare will be the result of the seeds you sewed and the daily nurturing those seeds received. Light, water, fertile soil, protection from disease, predictor and pests. |
