Chaos, Confidence & Certainty

 


It’s important to keep learning and stay connected with your Buyu (martial friends).

Some of them (like Jack) are a little ahead of you, others others you mentor. Often times you lead in some things, follow in others. Respecting and learning from everyone.

As Jack likes to say, “This is an infinite journey, so we are all in the same distance from the finish line… Keep going.”

Confidence, Competence & Chaos

Confidence is based on who you are right now. It usually comes from competence.

Confidence is knowing what to do… Or at least belief that you can accomplish the challenge.

But what happens when life punches you in the face?

What happens when you don’t know what to do?

This could be in the moment of conflict…

Or it could be in your business…

In your relationships…

With your purpose?

You lose your confidence and begin to drift through life.

That's where certainty comes in.

Certainty comes from deep inside you…

It comes through you from a higher source. Call it God, the Universe, the creator, or anything else you want.

That certainty channeling through you gives settles you in ways that aren’t always understood.

Certainty is knowing you will figure it out.

Certainty is knowing that every day, life is giving you exactly what you need to grow and expand.

Confidence is based on who you are right now…

Certainty is based on who you are becoming.

Are you only relying on confidence?

Or can you build certainty, knowing that every day you’re getting better.

Knowing that you will not only survive you will thrive in the situation, the chaos.

Certainty is built on a daily basis.

You condition yourself to feel guided.

You condition yourself to grow even when you feel you don’t have the capacity.

If you are training the right way, then certainty is developed in every session you practice.

A certainty beyond yourself.

A certainty that flow through you from some place higher.

From Ordinary to Extra-Ordinary

The average man is looking for confidence…

  Well, that last blog really made some waves and rattled cages. Several phone calls, emails, and I see that my unsubscribes were almost triple what they typically are. Sign of the Times!? I didn’t mean for folks to get all freaked out, it’s really just a public service announcement. Ebb & Flow

  Your training and life has an ebb and flow to it. There are times of exertion and times of recovery. Times of activity and times of rest. For instance, at our local Krav academy, we just got finished with a testing rotation. Testing rotations are a couple months of longer, harder training for all of us at the academy. It can get pretty intense for folks. At the end of the training period we have a big 4ish hour test. A gauntlet really that everyone goes through. Afterward we chill things out again. Our training slows down and eases up. We go from exerting a lot of effort. Working on a lot of gross motor skill drills. Lots of PT and higher intensity training. However, most folks, myself included, can’t safely or comfortably keep up that pace. It’s not sustainable. You have to… Chill Out for a While… Your training has seasons to it.
